  Juan Alonzo
Born in Miami Beach, Juan Alonzo moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela with his family. As a young child, Juan began his music studies at the Clavier Music Academy, studying classical guitar with Yeley Parra and music theory with Julio Quiroz. At the age of 12, Juan was performing in his own rock band and began writing music. At 16, he received contemporary music education at Berklee College of Music. In 2007, his family left Venezuela, moving to Hendersonville, TN and Juan attended his final year of high school. Being awarded a music scholarship from Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in Classical Guitar, he has completed his first year. Being bilingual, Juan writes songs in both languages, English and Spanish, directing to both audiences.

The music he plays varies between rock, ballads, funk, jazz and classical guitar. His repertoire covers material from composers like Tarrega, Dyens, Brouwer, Piazzolla and specially Antonio Lauro who is his favorite composer from Venezuela.

Having Juan was great! He really made it a lot easier for people to feel comfortable coming in and he is an AMAZING performer..especially according to all of our female members. I think he got even more happy girls when he started playing in Spanish so we were thinking of maybe seeing if he could perform in Cafe con Leche our annual Latin showcase. Ill keep you posted and thanks so much for everything!
